Mall Common-Area Refurbishment
A 5,400 m² refurbishment of common areas within a Dubai retail mall, delivering a refreshed concierge and circulation experience that combines polished stone flooring with a striking slatted feature ceiling. Al-Suhool executed the full fit-out and natural-stone package, upgrading finishes, lighting, joinery and the welcome desk while the centre remained operational.
Scope of works
- Full fit-out of mall common areas across approximately 5,400 m², including concierge, reception and circulation zones
- Supply, fabrication and installation of polished stone flooring with precision-honed joints and matched skirtings
- Installation of a suspended slatted baffle feature ceiling integrating recessed downlights and linear LED strips
- Bespoke joinery package including the modular black display shelving wall and the branded welcome/concierge desk
- Feature lighting works: linear coves, recessed spots and decorative pendants over the reception counter
- Phased works programme, MEP coordination and finishing while the mall remained open and trading

- Suspended slatted baffle ceiling in a dark finish that adds rhythm and conceals services while diffusing the linear lighting
- Large-format polished light-grey stone flooring with a soft, uniform sheen across the circulation zone
- Floor-to-ceiling modular black shelving wall with open display niches set against a textured light-grey feature wall
- Dark-toned branded concierge desk paired with warm decorative pendants for a boutique welcome point
- Layered lighting scheme combining recessed downlights, linear LED coves and accent pendants, with playful purple and pink seating accents
The challenge
Refurbishing a busy mall's common areas demanded a high-end finish across a large 5,400 m² footprint without closing the centre or disrupting shoppers and retail tenants.
Our solution
Al-Suhool delivered the works in tightly sequenced phases with hoarded zones and night shifts, fabricating the stone flooring and bespoke joinery in its own workshop and running continuous QA/QC and MEP coordination to protect quality and the trading environment.
The outcome
The result is a modern, cohesive common-area environment with elevated concierge and circulation zones, completed in 2023 across the full 5,400 m² with the mall remaining open throughout the works.
